The Embassy of Finland is located in the Nordic House-building in Yangon. Denmark, Norway and Sweden also have their diplomatic missions in the same office space. Due to renovation work, the Embassy of Finland will temporarily (15 June - 31 July 2018) move to the other side of Inya Lake, to the Centre Myanmar Business Suites.
The goal of the Embassy is to strengthen relations between Finland and Myanmar through foreign policy, trade- and development cooperation. Relationships in these areas are developed in line with Finland's national objectives and those of the EU.
Finland's development assistance is based on Myanmar's own development priorities and plans. In line with its Country Strategy, Finland supports advancing democracy and rule of law in Myanmar, as well as strengthening forest governance and the quality and inclusiveness of education.
The Embassy assists Finnish companies to gain access to Myanmar markets, and promotes a positive image of Finland, providing information on Finland. The Embassy also provides limited consular services to Finnish citizens.
